Bishop LeBlond claimed three of the top four individual scores in Monday’s Class 3 District 4 golf tournament.
Bishop LeBlond boys golf has made a habit out of winning district championships and Monday was much the same as they claimed the Class 3 District 4 title.
The Golden Eagles have now won their 11th straight district championship as they have bounced around between Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 over the last 11 seasons.
This time, at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond, Missouri, the Golden Eagles won convincingly by 15 strokes for a final score of 301.
Three of the top four scores on the day were Golden Eagles and Timothy Johnston took first place on the individual leader with a 72. Patrick Johnston finished right behind Timothy with a score of 73 and Sam Schoeberl finished in fourth place 76.
Bishop LeBlond carries their district championship momentum into the state tournament and will look to reclaim the state title after their chance at a four-peat was spoiled by Father Tolton in the Class 3 tournament.
The Class 3 District 4 tournament also featured two other St. Joseph schools in the field. Lafayette finished in seventh place with a score of 364 whereas Benton finished at 11th with a score of 392.
Benton can say they did have one state qualifier in Kamden Morlock who shot +15 with a score of 86, just making the cut tied for 20th.
