Summer safety academy starts July 10

Elementary-aged students who participate in the summer safety academy will learn about law enforcement, fire, EMS, storm, park and internet safety.

SMITHVILLE — Smithville School Resource Officers Joe Buchheit and Chris Mendoza are hosting a summer safety academy Monday through Friday, July 10 to July 14, for students who will be going into kindergarten through fifth grade in the coming school year. 

This is a free event where snacks and water will be provided. Students will learn about law enforcement, fire, EMS, storm, park and internet safety.
